EXHIBITIONS
Opening of an exhibition of photographs, manuscripts, books, publications, tapes and personal items of Georgios Papandreou at 7:30 p.m. in the hall of “Stoa” at Bouboulina and Praxitelous 169 in Piraeus.
The exhibition is organized by former officials and members of Youth Organizations, who formed a Panhellenic Committee, which planned a series of events to honor and appreciate the work of the Republic in the political life of the country, a contribution that lasted over half a century with his significant political presence.
At the Art and Cultural Center “Ora” (Enofontos 7, Syntagma) at 7:30 p.m., an exhibition by painter Maria Kostakou will be inaugurated. The exhibition will remain open until December 15.
An exhibition of paintings by Th. Markellos on the theme: “Shipyards”, was inaugurated at noon at the British Council (Filiki Etairia Square 17, Kolonaki). The exhibition will last until December 19.
An exhibition of paintings by “Angelos” is inaugurated at 7:30 p.m. at the Art and Cultural Center “Ora” (Enofontos 7). The exhibition will last until December 15.
LECTURES
At 7 p.m., at “Prasino”
TODAY at 7 p.m. at the National Gallery, the exhibition “Travelers in Greece from the 15th century to 1821” is inaugurated. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Mr. K. Tsatsos. The exhibition will last until December 14 and will be open daily from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m., except on Tuesdays.
A SOLO exhibition of paintings by painter Harikleia Mitara is inaugurated on November 28 at the gallery “Nees Morfes” (Valaoritou 9). The exhibition will last until December 15.
“SHIPYARDS” is the title of the exhibition of paintings by Markellos, which is inaugurated today (after yesterday’s preview) at 8 p.m. in the hall of the “British Council” (Kolonaki Square 17). The exhibition will be open every day, except Saturday and Sunday, and will last until December 19.
An EXHIBITION of Greek Christmas trees is organized in the halls of the “Hilton” from December 3–6 by the “Athens Forestry Association” (Fokylidou 4).
The exhibition aims to preserve the few firs remaining in our land from the slaughter that occurs every year for the sake of the foreign Christmas tree, which can be wonderfully replaced by the traditional festive boat.
FIFTY oils will be included in the exhibition by painter Voula Dogia, which is inaugurated on November 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the middle hall of “Yiarnassou”. The exhibition will last until December 19.

TH. MARKELOS RETURNED
After a five-month artistic tour in Italy where he successfully organized solo exhibitions in Milan, Trieste and Florence, the painter Th. Markellos returned to Athens.
— Among others, Giulio Montenero, art critic and director of the “Revoltella” Museum, wrote favorably about Markellos’ work. He analyzed the work of the “Greek artist” and from the Italian Television.
