Theodoros Markellos: Painting in Greek Shipyards (1986)
Exhibition Material — 1986
Theodoros Markellos
When I first happened to find myself in a shipyard, I was so deeply impressed by the color, the colossal dimensions of the facilities and structures, the movement, and the intensity of life in that space, that I felt an irresistible need to give expression to my emotions by working there.
Thus, for a very long period, I was given the opportunity to paint in Greek shipyards. It is my wish that this work conveys to you the same emotions that I myself experienced.
