AFTERNOON June 14 '67

IN THE NEW GALLERY
“ORIZON” (33 Nikis), which
offers a space suitable for
the display of large paintings and
absolutely modern lighting,
presents oil paintings by the
known painter Markellos, who
continued his artistic
studies, with scholarships, in
Spain and France.

Markellos, a restless nature,
managed to successfully synchronize
elements of Greek and Ang-
lican painting and to create
something new in his art,
which combines grammatical
quality, original connecting
elements and harmonious
compositions.

Among the best works of this
artistic period of the artist
are “Politeia”, “Interior with
Nude”, “Industrial Area”,
“Exialtis”, “Archaeological Site”
and “Railway Station”.

Markellos works consciously,
studies, creates, progresses.
He is the painter whose
art does not stop. A researcher
and dreamer, he aspires to
present something new in his
painting and achieves it.
