About This Work
Ochre rooftops gather along the slope, pale walls catching the dry midday light.
Low stone walls and scrub anchor the foreground as your eye moves up through clustered houses toward a ridge of dusty hills. Terracotta and bone-white buildings rest against olive greens and muted lavenders, with a clear cerulean sky opening above. The brushwork holds firm where sunlight strikes a whitewashed wall, looser across foliage and far slopes where pale violets settle into shadow. Light falls from high overhead, sharpening the architecture without flattening it. The village reads as a quiet accumulation of centuries rather than a single moment, and the dry stillness of an inland afternoon carries through everything—even the distant hills seem to be listening.
