Hydra Dawn
MK742
About This Work
Hydra at first light, its terraced houses rising in ivory and ochre above a harbour that has yet to catch a ripple.
There’s a quiet here that belongs only to the morning. Look how the whitewashed houses climb the hillside, their terracotta roofs all clustered together. The cool blues of the sky and water just seem to settle into the warm ivory and ochre of the stone, with little notes of coral flickering on the rooftops and hulls. The light is so gentle, coming in low from one side to carve out the buildings with long, soft shadows. Everything feels paused. A held quiet sits over the harbour, the town breathing slowly before the day begins.
