Paris Park with Fountains near the Museum

About This Work
Three fountains draw the eye forward along the ochre gravel path, toward a pale museum façade lit at the far end.
There’s a gentleness to this whole afternoon. The line of fountains pulls you forward, one after another, toward that grand museum front in the distance. And the people just drift through. Little notes of color among the trees. The light warms the ochre paths and pale stone, while the sky overhead softens from blue to a hint of peach at the horizon. You can see how the paint is laid on so smoothly for the architecture, but it loosens and breathes in the grass and water. It gives everything a soft edge. A late afternoon hush settles over it all, unhurried and at ease.
