Paris Through the Park in Rain
M1489
About This Work
A wet path cuts diagonally through the park, two small figures under umbrellas dwarfed by the trees, the city dissolving into gray behind them.
Everything feels softened by the damp air. The walkway pulls you gently forward, toward the blurred shapes of buildings on the horizon. Mature trees arch overhead, their canopies breathing in loose touches of green and slate. The few figures with their umbrellas seem so small, just part of the calm rhythm. All the colors are muted grays and cool blues, though a little warmth comes through in the tree trunks and that pale lavender wash across the wet stones. Every edge is softened, blurred into the next. The air carries the hush of rain, and time slows along the gleam of the path.
