About This Work

A cargo ship waits in a Greek harbor, its stacked containers rising against sun-washed quays and calm water. Industrial grays and rust-reds settle against the Aegean blues and warm ochres of the shore.

The vessel’s vertical form feels grounded by the long lines of the dock and horizon, while diagonal rigging suggests a silent movement. Careful brushwork gives form to the hull plating and harbor walls, yet the sea and sky breathe with looser strokes; thick paint on the wave crests is touched by the late-afternoon sun. Background hills and terracotta roofs place the scene in a Mediterranean light. Cool cerulean and cobalt wash over the view, warmed by golden reflections that speak of the day’s end. Though no figures are present, a feeling of quiet purpose is here—in taut ropes, still decks, and containers sealed for their journey. The air is full of the hush of a port between arrivals, a place where modern trade meets ancient water. Stillness settles over the harbor.
