Fields in Very Intense Color with Sergoulopoulos

About This Work
That electric green burns against the violet earth, the horizon pulled so tight. The heat sits over everything.
There's an energy here, a hum inside the color itself. The bands just roll away from us—from that intense green through fiery orange and deep violet, all the way to a sliver of cobalt at the horizon. The paint is so confident. In some places it's laid on thick, while in others it’s thin enough to let the canvas breathe. The light doesn’t come from the sky. It feels like it’s rising right out of the pigments, glowing from within the land. The air carries the heat of the color, and this open country feels so alive.
