Olives, Andros
MK443
About This Work
An Andros olive grove at high noon, silver-green rows sharp and orderly under a sun with no angle to it.
There's such a timeless feeling in this grove. It's so quiet. The gnarled trunks feel ancient, rooting the whole scene while the olive rows recede toward those low, hazy hills. The world is just silvery green meeting warm, sun-baked earth. The paint itself feels thick and rough on the bark, then becomes almost dry where it describes the open ground. Light falls from straight above, cutting short shadows under the trees—but even the shade seems to hold a soft glow. You can see little flickers of yellow where the sun is hottest on the leaves. The grove holds its quiet, patient and rooted, time slowing between the trees.
