Harvesters (Composition)

About This Work
Grain sheaves, a sickle, and a woven basket rest together on a narrow ledge, gathered as if just brought in from the harvest.
A quiet gravity holds these objects together. You can almost feel their weight building across the canvas, each shape overlapping the next, leaving just enough space to let them breathe. See the colors—how olive green threads through muted gold, while a deeper earth tone grounds the heavier forms below. The paint itself shifts with each surface. It runs smooth for a ceramic curve or a blade's edge, then becomes thick and close for the dry straw and weathered wood. Light falls softly, pooling in warm shadows underneath. No people are here, but their presence lingers in the tools they've set down. Time slows, patient, as if the harvesters have only just stepped away.
