House in Davla

One house anchors the hillside above Davla, its sun-struck walls thrown into relief by deep, angled shadow.

Everything feels settled here, held under the weight of the sun. The house rests low and to the right, solid and simple. See how the sloping ground guides you down toward it? The light is so strong it flattens the walls into bright planes, cut by those deep, cool shadows pooling under the eaves. The brushwork is so different on the house than the land around it—crisp lines for the building, while the earth breathes with looser touches. Behind it all, the hills just recede into a soft haze. Around the house the silence settles, patient and unhurried, the way an afternoon holds itself in a quiet village.
