Hydra – Mountain Peaks
MK1794
About This Work
Slate ridges rise into a pale sky, their edges sharp where the light catches stone. The air feels thin, held at altitude.
The peaks fill the upper two-thirds, anchoring the eye along a ridgeline that drifts toward a central summit, while below softens into haze and suggests the long fall of the valley. Cool slate gray meets icy blue and chalk white across the heights, with muted warmth touching the nearer rock. Fine brushwork builds the strata; smoother glazes carry the sky; thicker strokes pick out the lit edges where sun strikes stone. Light falls from above and slightly left, soft on distant peaks, firmer on the closer faces. A small landscape, intimate in size yet wide in feeling. The silence settles over the range, slow and clear.
