About This Work
Aquamarine water meets a band of pale sky, the horizon broken by soft lavender shore.
The eye enters across calm sea, drifts toward a low coastal silhouette, then lifts into wide, lightly clouded air. Cool blues carry the water while ochre warmth and pale white touch the shoreline and cloud edges. Smoother passages settle the sky and open water; shorter strokes articulate small wave crests and the rocky lift of the island. Light comes from high and diffused, late afternoon in feel, softening where land meets sea. The air holds the slow breath of a Greek afternoon at the edge of myth.
