Landscape with Olive Trees
MK108
About This Work
Twisted olive trunks rise from ochre ground, their silver-green canopies lit by a sun already angled low.
This whole landscape breathes with a slow rhythm. The trees carry you back toward that soft horizon, where warm ochre soil meets a pale sky. They just feel ancient. The silvery foliage seems to answer the sienna in the earth, with little touches of white-gold light glinting on the leaves. Look at the paint—thinner strokes let the distant hills breathe, but for the trunks, it thickens into knots that trace the twists of the bark. Light comes in low from the side, drawing out those long, soft shadows. The grove holds the quiet of a long afternoon, time settling right into the ground.
