About This Work
A clay pot and folded cloth placed close, the ochre light unhurried across each surface.
Everything rests together in such a gentle quiet. The shapes are grouped in a soft pyramid that lets your eye travel from the curve of a pot, across the fold of cloth, and into the open space above. The colors are so soft—ochre and warm grey, with just a touch of sienna. And the light doesn't cut. It pools, arriving from somewhere unseen to settle gently on every rim. You can almost feel the difference in the surfaces, the paint smoother on ceramic, then drier where it describes the fabric. It’s a small arrangement, but so careful in its weight. Time slows here, the air holding the hush of an ordinary afternoon.
