Leonidio Sunset, Road Outward
MK235
About This Work
At the edge of Leonidio, a road stretches into burnt orange sky, the Peloponnese hills deepening to violet behind it.
There’s a quiet pull to this road, leading toward low hills that settle into dusky violet and green. See how the paint breathes? Smooth washes of color carry the sky, but it gets thicker down here, building the stones and the scrub at its edges. All that warmth from the sunset—that deep sienna and rose—pools above, then spills back across the ground. The sun’s glow softens every edge near the horizon. No one is here. Just the road moving away. The hour holds at that hush between day and dark, and the air carries the slow weight of a sunset already letting go.
