Monastery Colonnade

About This Work
Stone columns recede one by one, the colonnade narrowing toward shadow at the far end.
A deep quiet settles over everything. You can feel it in the architecture—the way the columns draw you inward and the floor tiles hold a steady rhythm underfoot. The walls breathe in earth tones, warm ochre and umber giving way to cool grey in the shade. There's just a hint of green, a single quiet note in the distance. The light is soft. It comes from one side, just grazing the stone. Up close, the paint is so careful, but it softens as the space recedes. A cloth, perhaps a vessel, anchors a human presence without breaking the calm. Time slows here, and the silence holds the room like cool air against stone.
