Mykonos, The Venice

About This Work
Cobalt doors mark the waterline at Little Venice, the painted walls dropping straight into the Aegean.
The quiet here feels so deep. The whitewashed walls seem to hold the sunlight, carrying faint shadows of grey and ochre. And the small notes of cobalt and ultramarine in the doors answer the deeper turquoise of the sea. Look how the water is just these soft, horizontal touches, looser than the solid architecture, broken where the light catches the surface. Even the smallest details, like the railings, are picked out with a fine, sure line. Above it all, the sky breathes, shifting from pale blue to that thin gold at the horizon. A held quiet settles over the harbor, slow and sun-warmed, as if the hour has paused to listen.
