Painting at Dusk, Vasilis
MK99
About This Work
Dusky violet spreads across the cloth, anchored by one small, warm note at the center.
A quiet gravity settles over everything here. The objects lean into a soft diagonal, and the space around them feels just as important. The colors are so gentle—earthy umbers and ochres meeting cool slate blues in the background, with just a single touch of sienna that glows. The light comes from one side, low in the sky, laying down these long, soft shadows that connect everything on the table. The paint itself breathes, smoother on the main forms and looser all around. It feels as if dusk has just settled, and all of time holds its breath.
