Rhodes

About This Work
Rhodes is held between sea and sky, two parallel blues framing sun-bleached walls and the coral scatter of its rooftops.
The whole town seems to be breathing in the slow afternoon sun. You can feel the path from the shoreline, up through the clustered buildings, to the pale hills behind. The sea and sky are two clean bands of blue, holding all the warm earth tones and sun-bleached whites of the town between them. Just those little touches of coral flicker on the rooftops. The paint itself changes as you look closer—the water is a smooth wash, but the walls have this thick, sun-baked grain. The light is so bright, casting short shadows tucked right under the eaves. A held quiet rests over everything, the kind that settles when an afternoon stops moving.
