Shipyard at Harbor

About This Work
Crane arms cut against a slate sky, holding the dock below — moored hulls, coiled ropes, and small figures at work along the water.
A quiet, industrious calm fills this place. The dock pulls your eye in, past small figures moving among coiled ropes and weathered planks, back toward the moored hulls against a pale horizon. The cool blues and grays of sea and sky are met with the earthy warmth of timber and workwear. The brushwork breathes for the water and clouds, but tightens for the hard lines of rigging and the gleam of rivets in the hulls. Light is soft, diffused from above, so shadows never feel heavy—just a thin sheen on wet decks. A patient, working quiet settles over the harbour, holding the rhythm of labor close to the water.
