About This Work

That burnt orange fabric anchors the composition — its heavy folds dense enough to trap the light within them.

Everything feels so carefully placed, held in the quiet of the room. The ceramics and other rounded forms rest against the cloth, their shapes balanced by the open space. That burnt orange is answered by softer earth tones—chalky creams and cool slate greys. Look at the brushwork. The paint feels so loose and expressive on the fabric, catching all the folds, but becomes tighter on the vessels, giving them a real solidity. A soft daylight filters in from one side, leaving gentle shadows and a low sheen on the glazed surfaces. The room feels still, holding the afternoon at its own slow pace.
