Zagora View with Haze, Wintry
M630
About This Work
Zagora recedes into winter haze, its rooftops catching rust red before the hills dissolve into pale blue.
There's a quietness that sinks right into the land. The earth tones up close feel so dry, sleeping for the winter. Your eye drifts up to the village, a cluster of rooftops with a touch of rust red here and there, before the hills behind them just fade into soft blues. The paint feels thicker here, closer to us. Farther back, it all melts into mist. And the light is so gentle, with no hard shadows to break the spell—just that one dark cypress, standing watch. The whole scene holds its breath as the silence of a winter afternoon settles over everything.
