At the Harbor
M2304
About This Work
Moored boats sit close along the harbor's front, their hulls catching high midday light. The water holds a quiet weight beneath them.
The eye enters at the foreground boats, slips across calm reflections, and settles on whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs tucked against pale hills. Cerulean and azure carry the sea and sky, while earth tones warm the wood and stone. Soft shadows pool under the eaves. Brushwork loosens where water ripples, then firms around the architecture, thicker paint catching on rope and rigging. Light falls clean and even from above—edges crisp on the buildings, softening into the hills. The air feels still, and the harbor holds its hour like something kept.
