Flowers, Roses, Lilies

About This Work
Crimson roses and pale lilies press close together, their petals nearly touching at the heart of the bouquet.
There’s such a gentle weight to them. They hold the center of the painting, blooms gathered just so, letting the leaves and stems fan out into the soft air. The deep crimson of the roses seems to answer the almost translucent cream of the lilies, with ribbons of green weaving between them against that warm, quiet background. You can feel how the brushwork changes—so smooth and glowing on the petals, but with more texture in the leaves. Light just settles over everything, falling from above to give each bloom its own soft shadow and shape. The air holds the quiet of an afternoon, a moment where time slows.
