About This Work
Dark red and muted green anchor the composition, the table beneath them grounded in deep ochre and umber.
Everything here feels so settled. So patient. The light seems to come from one side, soft and low, gently finding the roundness of each form against the quiet dark. The weight of the scene rests in those deep earth tones—the ochres and umbers—but it’s all lifted by a touch of dark red and that quiet green catching your eye. Do you see the paint? It’s thick and textured where the light hits, then smooths out into the hollows. It makes the forms feel so present, so solid. The air feels still, time slowed to the patient rhythm of looking.
