From the Pines of Xylokastro

About This Work
Pine trunks press close along the Corinthian coast, their dark columns parting just enough to let the sea through.
There’s a deep quiet here, a feeling of looking out from some sheltered place. Your gaze travels from the rough texture of the trees, past that thin strip of shoreline, and just opens out onto the sea. The foliage holds all those deep, earthy greens. See how the water shifts from aquamarine to soft cerulean, meeting a sky just touched with peach at the horizon? You can feel the difference in the paint—thick and rough for the bark and needles, then so smooth for the water. The light falls softly from the side. It's so intimate in scale, yet the view is endless. The quiet of the pines settles over the whole scene, slow and unhurried.
