Karavos Harbor at Sunset
M873
About This Work
At Karavos, the last orange drains from the sky, and the moored boats sit with their indigo hulls between lit water and gathering dark.
This is that quiet hour at the end of the day. The white walls of the houses seem to catch the last of the warmth, opening onto the fishing boats as they rest. We’re drawn in along the weathered dock, out toward the calm water. Look how that fading gold in the sky just melts into the lavender shadows on the sea, touching the deep blues of the hulls. The paint itself is so different everywhere—thick and certain on the stone, then drawn out long and smooth where the ripples breathe. A slow quiet settles over the harbor.
