About This Work
Stone houses step up the flank of Pelion, their terracotta roofs layered into the olive-green hillside.
The whole village seems to settle into the slope, climbing gently toward the dusty blue mountains. All those warm terracotta roofs and chalky whites rest against deep olive greens. And far away, just a hint of lavender softens the ridges. There’s such a careful touch in the lines of the buildings, but the foliage and sky are looser, letting the light breathe through the brushwork. The sunlight is high and even, soft rather than sharp, pooling in gentle shadows along the lanes. A quiet holds over everything, the kind that arrives when the day is ready to rest.
