About This Work
A pale, ashen sky presses down on emptiness.
The eye enters low across dry ground, drifts toward sparse architectural fragments in the midground, then lifts into the broad expanse above. Ochre and dust-umber meet steely gray, with faint traces of oxidized red where a wall or roof remains. Brushwork shifts between thin washes in the sky and drier, layered touches across the ruined surfaces—scraped passages suggest fissures and erosion. Light is diffuse and shadowless, an overcast haze that flattens forms and softens every edge. The broken structures read more as residue than ruin. Nothing moves. The air settles like fine dust, and the silence holds the long quiet of an afternoon nobody returns to.
