Paros in Naoussa Harbor
MK9
About This Work
Naoussa's painted terraces drop to the harbor, blue shutters drawn tight against the slant of the afternoon sun.
There’s such a warmth to this light—that late afternoon gold washing over the plaster walls. The fishing boats are so still, their reflections almost perfect on the surface. Behind them, the whole village clusters together, and those soft hills in the distance just close in the bay. The colors feel so true... that sun-warmed ochre against the sharp cerulean blue, and those soft lavenders filling the shadows. You can see how the brushwork just breathes across the water, then pulls in tight for the fine lines of the buildings and their masts. The air feels still, settled into that long quiet hour before the lamps come on.
