About This Work
Cobalt domes press to either side, opening the center to the caldera — nothing interrupting that expanse of noon-blue sea.
Everything feels held in this midday light. The buildings gather at the edges of the frame, leaving the center open to the sea and horizon. All that crisp white presses right up against the deep blue of the domes. Down below, the water shifts from turquoise to indigo, while the stone paths hold a soft, earthy warmth. The brushwork carries that same balance—clean lines for the architecture, and a looser breath for the water and sky. Thick paint catches the sun on the flat faces. Soft-edged shadows are tucked just so, under every curve. The air sits still over the village, the kind of quiet that holds its own weight.
