Sun-bleached ochre hills fold into one another under a pale sky. Heat sits over the slopes, slow and weighty.

The land rises in terraced planes, contours leading back through chalky white outcrops and dusty lavender shadows toward distant ridges. Pale sienna and bone-colored earth meet muted violet hollows where light cannot reach, and low stone walls trace old boundaries across the dryness. Brushwork shifts from dry passages in the foreground crust to thinner washes above, softening into atmospheric haze as the eye travels back. Light falls from high above, hard and direct, flattening color at the crests and pooling shadow at the seams. The air holds the silence of an inland afternoon where nothing stirs.
