Streams in the Mountains
MK117
About This Work
A pale turquoise stream cuts through the rocks, side-lit, while slate peaks rise cold in the distance.
There’s a deep solitude here. See how the stream pulls you in? It winds past those mossy banks and stones, leading your eye up toward the mountains. The distance is all cool slate and soft grey, but the ground warms down here with earthy greens and ochre. The paint is so specific—you can almost feel the rough texture on the rocks, while the water just glides, smooth and wet. And the light is soft, coming from the side, laying long shadows across the land. Just those little touches of white on the ripples. The air feels so clear, holding the valley in a patient quiet.
