Sunset Near Kalambaka
MK90
About This Work
The Meteora pinnacles stand dark against a sky burning orange over Kalambaka, last light still caught in their ochre faces.
The whole landscape seems to hold its breath. There’s so much room for the sky to open, while the rock pinnacles anchor everything below. Their faces keep the sun’s warmth—all sienna and ochre—against the deep blues climbing higher. The paint in the sky is so soft, so blended, but on the stone it feels drier, as if it’s catching the actual grain. Low light carves long shadows that shape the land without any hard lines. A quiet settles over everything as time slows.
