About This Work

Volcanic cliffs rise toward the chapel of Agios Minas, its pale walls struck by high Cycladic sun.

There’s a deep quiet here, a stillness that belongs only to midday. See how the rough texture of the foreground leads you up the face of the cliff, right to that small chapel near the top. The warm earth of the stone is answered by the cool blues in the water and sky. The brushwork just breathes—so fluid for the sea, but thicker and rougher for the rock, building its porous weight. Just a few simple touches of white for the chapel walls, catching the sun. The light feels high and clean, almost without shadow. A held silence rests over the headland, slow and sun-warmed, the kind that settles on the islands.
