Sea with Rain
MK77
About This Work
Fine diagonal rain crosses a steel-grey sea — no land, no vessel, nothing interrupting the bare line of the horizon.
There’s such a quiet power to it. The whole world is horizontal, just this churning sea and a heavy sky pressing down. See how the water and clouds merge out there at the edge? The colors are all sea and weather—slate blues and muted greens, with just a hint of something warmer bleeding through the cloud bank. The brushwork feels so fluid. Look at the crests of the waves, where the paint is thicker, catching what little light there is. It’s a soft light, spreading everywhere and nowhere at once. And the rain itself... just those fine, steady lines pulling through it all. The air feels damp and close, holding the slow weight of weather over open water.
