Trees, Cypresses, Spring

About This Work
Two cypresses, set just left of center, rise through pale spring green beneath a sky of even, shadowless light.
There's a quiet optimism to this field. You feel it in the soft earth tones at your feet, which open into all that new green. The cypresses are placed so thoughtfully—not right in the middle, but just enough to the side that the meadow can breathe around them. Their foliage is built from these dense, dabbed strokes of paint, but the sky above is just a thin wash of color. And the light is so gentle. It settles over everything without a single sharp shadow. The whole morning seems to hold its breath.
