Tsagarada, Pelion, Mixed with Japanese

About This Work
Stone houses of Tsagarada descend through dense chestnut canopy, their slate roofs angled toward a narrow strip of Aegean below.
There’s a deep quiet here, the kind that settles over an entire hillside. Look how the stone houses rest among the trees—each one so carefully seen, while the leaves around them are just a breath of green. Your eye follows that gentle line down through the terraces, all the way to the water. The warm earth tones of the village cool into the soft indigo of the sea. You can almost feel the thicker paint on the stone, while the distance just opens into hazy light. The sun is high but gentle, leaving only soft shadows under the eaves. Time slows in a place like this, the whole afternoon held in that stillness.
