Andros Landscape
MK351
About This Work
Late afternoon light grazes the hills of Andros, pulling long shadows into each hollow.
A quiet warmth rests over this landscape. You start here, with the scrubby earth and low stones, and your eye just travels out across those folded hills. The land breathes with burnt sienna and muted olive, all beneath a thin, chalky blue sky. The paint itself feels different depending on where you look—drier and more tactile on the rocks nearby, then softening into smoother strokes way out in the distance. Just little touches of thicker pigment catch the light along a crest. It's a low, gentle light. It stretches the shadows in the hollows and grazes the tops of the hills with gold. Nothing hurries here. The silence settles into the land and stays.
