Attic Landscape

About This Work
Timber rafters cross the upper register, their shadows falling across worn planks; beyond, a pale aperture opens onto violet-hazed land.
The eye enters through structural lines—rafters and planks rendered in close, deliberate strokes that hold weight and grain—then travels outward to a vista treated with looser passages. Umber and muted gray dominate the wooden interior, answered by hazy violet and pale blue in the landscape beyond, with soft green at the horizon. Light enters obliquely from a high opening, modeling the timber in low relief and spilling diffusely across the far view. The brushwork shifts as the space opens, tighter near the wood, almost breath-like at the edges of distance. A quiet settles between the two zones, holding the afternoon at the threshold of memory.
