Three Trees by the Sea
MK2182
About This Work
Three trunks cluster slightly left of center, the sea behind them pale and level to the horizon.
The trees sit slightly left of center while the sea stretches off in soft horizontal bands of slate blue and dove gray. Muted greens and earthy browns move through the foliage and bark, answered by a sky that drifts from cerulean toward faint lavender. Foreground grasses carry textured, layered touches, while broader strokes open up the sky and water. Light grazes the seaward edges of the trunks, laying long shadows across the ground, with cream highlights flickering along distant wavecaps. There is something timeless in how the trees hold their ground here, patient against the sea's slow turning.
