Attic Landscape with Sun Rays
M2096
About This Work
Afternoon light falls in long shafts across the old rafters, pulling amber and suspended dust out of the dark.
The whole space feels like a quiet threshold. The long lines of the beams draw you forward, out toward that opening onto the landscape. All the colors inside are these deep, earthy tones of weathered wood, waking into amber and pale yellow where the sun strikes. Then you look through the opening into the cool air of distant greens and blues. Even the paint seems to change—it’s solid on the timber, then it just softens, breathing into the open country. A held silence rests between the old wood and the sky. Time slows in a place like this.
