Autumn Trees in Morning Light
NP
About This Work
Dark trunks cut sharply against an autumn blaze of amber and red, the low sun already pulling long shadows across the forest floor.
Everything in this grove seems to be holding its breath. The trees just stand there, their canopies breaking up the sky. There’s a faint path that wanders away into the cooler haze of the background. The color is all autumn warmth—deep reds and golds that glow against the cool blues hiding in the shadows. And the paint itself… see how it breathes? Softer in the distance, but up close on the bark and leaves, you can almost feel the texture where little dabs of thicker paint catch the light. That low sun stretches such long, soft shadows across the ground. The quiet of the morning just settles into the trees and holds there.
