Daisies and Poppies
MK1115
About This Work
White daisies and deep red poppies share the same stem, their dark centers steady against the open brightness of each petal.
There’s a softness to the whole arrangement. See how the bouquet rests just off-center, letting the stems and leaves breathe into the space around them. The cool white of the daisies just rests against the warmth of the poppies, with their deep, dark centers. Look at the brushwork—so delicate on the edges of the petals, but looser in the background. You can almost feel the thicker dabs of paint right in the hearts of the flowers. The light is gentle. It’s just enough to find each petal's edge without casting a hard shadow. A morning hush settles over the table, and time slows around the flowers.
