Hydra at Night from My Window
MK350
About This Work
Hydra harbor at dusk, framed by a window, dark rooftops stepping down to amber lanterns reflected across the water.
There's a deep quiet over the whole town. Our eye travels over the dark roofs and down to the harbor, where scattered lights touch the water. The sky holds all those deep blues, and then you have those little points of amber from the windows and lanterns along the shore. You can feel the difference in the brushwork—so careful on the edges of the houses, but it loosens and breathes over the sea. Look how the thickest paint is saved for just the brightest lights. The masts stand so still. All the houses cluster on one side, letting the bay open up on the other. Time slows here, and the silence of the island after dusk rests gently against the glass.
