Nerantza, Sunset by the Sea
MK434
About This Work
Nerantza holds its colour a moment longer — warm orange at the horizon, lavender above, teal deepening into the water.
Everything just rests in these long, horizontal lines. Warm oranges and pale gold drift through the sky, cooling into the deep blue of the water while a thin shadow of land holds the distance. The paint itself feels so fluid. You can see the long strokes carrying the gentle swell of the sea, while the clouds are blended into something close to vapour. The light is low and soft, coming from somewhere beyond the frame, so there are no hard shadows. Just that slow, even glow across the surface, and the way the water answers it in touches of pale gold. A quiet sits over everything, holding the moment between day and night.
