Rainy Night with Moonlight
MK2208
About This Work
Slate grays and cold indigo anchor the composition, silvery streaks descending through a pale, diffused light.
All this movement pulls downward, into cool, pooled reflections that suggest a place without ever showing one. The strokes just fall, vertical and diagonal. Deep indigos and slate grays hold the ground, threaded with silvery blue and a whisper of violet. Then over at the edge—see it?—a hint of muted ochre flickers like a far lamp seen through water. You can almost feel the different textures, how thin glazes sit over drier marks, glossy beside matte. The light has no single source; it just gathers in the wettest passages, letting the rest fall back into shadow. Quiet settles over everything, the kind that arrives after the heaviest rain has passed.
