About This Work
A pale vessel and bruised fruit sit at the center, earth tones drawn tight around the light angling in from one side.
There’s such a quiet patience to it all. The objects gather toward the center, forming a gentle pyramid against that soft, hazy background. The whole scene is held in earth tones—that muted red and deep umber are lifted by just a touch of coolness on the rim of the vessel, on the skin of the fruit. Light comes in from one side, giving everything its weight. The paint is smoother in those dark pools, but it’s thicker where the light catches a fold of cloth or the slight bruise on an apple. The edges are so crisp right here, but then they just soften away. Time slows here, settling into the hush between ordinary things.
